As campaigns for the Presidential and National Assembly elections officially kick off tomorrow, President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to first showcase his achievements and projections for the next four years to Nigerians before the official flag-off of the campaigns. The event for this presentation is tagged “THE NEXT LEVEL” which will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 5pm to 8pm. It would be broadcast live from different T.V stations and will be a precursor to the official flag-off of the campaigns.

At the event, the President is expected to unveil two documents: one that will highlight his achievements in the last three and half years and will also contain other facts to guide supporters in the course of the campaigns; and the other document is titled “THE NEXT LEVEL”, which captures the projections of the Buhari administration in the next four years if given the mandate again by Nigerians.

A formal announcement as to the official flag-off of the campaigns would be made in the next few days.

The Super Eagles travelled for the game as group leaders with nine points, with the Bafana Bafana second with eight.

Gernot Rohr’s men went ahead through Samuel Kalu, in what appeared like an own goal before the hosts levelled.

There were no goals in the second half.

In the other game, Libya mauled Seychelles 8-1.

Nigeria host Seychelles in their last fixture of the qualifying series.

Man Who Killed 100 Level NDU Student Over Phone, Was Arrested

The Bayelsa State Vigilante Service has apprehended one of the suspects involved in the killing of miss Seiyefa Fred, a first year student of the Niger Delta University NDU.

Seiyefa was murdered on November 8th in Amasomma, the university host community after she refused to surrender her newly purchased iphone. ()

After much investigation, the vigilante group apprehended one of Seiyefa’s killers today November 16th.

The suspect, 20-year-old Junior Danumunabo from Nembe Ogbolomabiri has confessed to the crime.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the split within the Ohanaeze, Igbo socio-cultural group, over its reported endorsement of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, did not surprise him.

He made the remark while speaking at a meeting with a select group of South East leaders on Friday at the State House, Abuja.

Buhari said that the moment the so-called resolution was announced, he got calls from well-meaning leaders from the region asking him to disregard it as it was without any substance.

The Worldwide President of Ijaw Peoples Pevelopment Initiative IPDI, Comrade Ozobo Austin has apologized to HRM, Pere Godwin Ogunoyibo ,the Alagbabunafa lll, Agadagba of Olodiama kingdom over his inability to accept the Chieftaincy conferred on him at his one year coronation anniversary celebration held at Ikoro ,the traditional headquarters of Olodiama kingdom on the 14th Nov, 2018.

The activist was designated to be conferred with a Chieftaincy by the paramount ruler of Olodiama kingdom as part of recognition for his active contributions and participation of the liberational struggle of Edo Ijaw People. He has been a strong voice over time to see that Edo Ijaws are not intimidated.

But surprisely, he did not accept it after been called to stage at the ceremony, a development that was not too pleasant with his friends and wellwishers.

Meantime, while contacted by SPOTPOINT news correspondent, he apologized to the Olodiama Kingdom and aggrieved friends for not accepting the offer. He thank the Pere Alagbabunafa lll for the recognition.

Ozobo further explained ” As active participant of the struggle, it is not yet time to celebrate tittle. I can not celebrate tittle now when much as not been achieved in the struggle of the total liberation of Edo Ijaws. I will be happy to celebrate tittle when I see progress in the struggle or seeing my people liberated”

He asserted further “There is much to be done than celebrating tittle now. As for me, I want to celebrate my traditional rulers in Edo state been presented with staff of office. I want to celebrate Edo Ijaw oil producing communities been recognized in EDOSOPADEC. I want to celebrate Ijaw having a commissioner in the board of EDOSOPADEC”

“I want to first and foremost celebrate drinkable water, good health centres, good school, and good roads linking Ijaw communities in Edo state. I want to celebrate Edo Ijaws been appointed into the cabinet of Edo state government. I want to celebrate Ijaw people been liberated from discrimination of Benin people and security agencies in Edo state, then I would be very happy to celebrate tittle.

The activist further added that celebrating tittle now will derail him from the struggle. “It will make me to be more responsible than been radical. The struggle needs radical people and not comfortable people. Celebrating tittle should be the last thing I should do if we are very serious about the liberational struggle of Edo Ijaws”

While appealing to Olodiama people, he said he remains an active son of Olodiama kingdom whether bearing tittle or not, and that he will give every necessary support to the kingdom at all times.

There seems to be endless joy and jubilation in some communities of Iduwini Kingdom, Delta State yesterday as the Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC commissioned and inspects other ongoing projects within the Kingdom.

The SPDC had through its Iduwini Delta Cluster Development Board under the chairmanship of High Chief Sunny Gbegha, JP, spreads projects across communities constituting the cluster.

Some of the communities include Odimodi, Ofougbene, Forcados and Yeye with different projects ranging from construction of roads, building of Headmasters quarter, Principal’s lodge, furnituring, renovation among other developmental projects.

However, in an interview with newsmen at Ofougbene community yesterday, Engr. Habib Momoh, representative of SPDC, Community Interface Project, CIP had restated that Shell will continue to contribute meaningfully towards the growth and development of its clusters.

“Sustain the existing peace in your communities, support the activities of Shell Petroleum Development Company, we are committed to do more” Habib stated

While hailing the communities for their peaceful dispositions, he had charged them to continue to sustain the existing peace.

Meanwhile, women in Ofougbene had been empowered by the SPDC through the cluster board with 500 chairs, 20 tables and 7 cannoppies and decoration materials to drive revenue for themselves among other things worthing millions of Naira.

While handing over the furnitures, chairs, tables and cannoppies to the people of Ofougbene community and the women, chairman of the Iduwini Delta Cluster Board, Chief Sunny Gbegha, JP had charged the people to maintain the properties, stressing that the board under his command will continue to liaise with SPDC to contribute towards the general well being of the people.

In his words: “Our projects are spread across Odimodi, Yeye, Forcados and here in Ofougbene. We have different projects in all of these communities.

“In Ofougbene, we are empowering the women with 500 plastic chairs, 7 canopies and 20 tables to generate funds for themselves.

“We also discovered that Ofougbene as a community has no good chairs and tables hence we thought it wise to empower them with tables and chairs. With what we have done, they have been empowered to the capacity of hosting a local government Chairman and even the governor of the state should he visit Ofougbene town hall. All these worth millions of Naira.

“One very important message is that these things have to be maintained for more things to come.”

While receiving the properties from the Cluster Board Chairman, supervised by the SPDC officials on behalf of Ofougbene community, Comr. Thomas Obirita, secretary and Madam Baby, on behalf of the women, they had all thanked the Board and SPDC for their gesture and developmental strides so far in the Kingdom, stressing that they will make judicious use of the properties coupled with maintenance.

“We lack words to properly thank you people, as a community, we want to assure SPDC and members of the Cluster Board that we will maintain these things that have been given to us, we will continue to remain peaceful and support your activities.” Thomas stated.

Representing the women leader of Ofougbene, Madam Baby had said: “We are very happy for these empowerment items, we will make very good use of them, such gestures are not common, we want to thank SPDC and members of the cluster Board.

“You people are so dependable, within this short while, look at how our communities are gradually transforming into cities, it can only be attributed to your good works.”

Hon. Joshua Evene, deputy majority leader, Burutu legislative arm, representing the council Chairman, Hon. Godknows Angele had lauded SPDC and the Iduwini Delta Cluster Board leadership for the stance of developing the communities.

In his words: “Thank you very much for your activities so far, we want to thank the various communities for nominating credible people to serve in this capacity, this truly shows how committed SPDC is for the development of our people and communities. As a local government, we commend your developmental strides, government will also support your activities, you have done well, these things we have so far will go a long way in addressing our many woes as a people.”
