Zoning: Okowa deserve support in 2019, Says Mulade

Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa

A Niger Delta based human right and environmental activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has called on all Deltan’s to support Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as the only candidate from the Delta North to complete the second tenure zoned to Delta North within Delta State Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Arrangement.

Sheriff Mulade noted that fair power rotation is crucial to participatory democracy as every region within the State deserves the benefits of first and second tenure which successive governors have enjoyed. It will be fair and just to accord governor Okowa the needed support to complete the well deserved second tenure for the Delta North.

Speaking with Journalist in Abuja yesterday on his return from the Peace Forum held in France, Paris, Mulade retrospected that “Delta central produced former Governor, Chief James Ibori who was famous with the agitation for resource control, from 1999-2007”.

“Delta South had the privilege of producing the governor that was popular with his Uduaghan transport vehicles and free maternal care in government hospitals across Delta State from 2007-2015 while in office”.

“Since 2015 till date we have the SMART agenda governor from the Delta North, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as a Governor known for road construction and youth empowerment programme in the area of skill acquisition.”

Mulade further reiterated that Delta North deserves the support of all Deltan’s to complete the second tenure, as this will concretize the practice of equity and fairness in the Delta politics. He urged Deltas to vote massively for Okowa so that he can retain the prerogative of state power and improve on his programs and policies for the benefit of all in the State.

Drawing governor Okowa’s attention to key areas the governor should consider revisiting for improvement, Mulade said “The slogan Prosperity for all Deltans is yet to work in a practical sense for all Deltans. There is need for the government to get close to the reach of less privileged as governance should not be limited to the corridors of government appointees and officials”.
