*Urged Manager To Reciprocate Egbema People By Influencing The Speedy Completion Of NDDC Ufunama Abandoned Road Project*
A Niger-Delta rights activist and leader in the Ijaws of Egbema Kingdom in Warri-North Local Government Area of Delta State,Alaowei Promise Lawuru has called on the senator representing the people of Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly Abuja, Sen.James Ebiowou Manager to visit the rural communities in Egbema Kingdom in order to identify with the people a head of 2019 general elections.
Alaowei Lawuru said, the call became imperative holding to the fact that, since 2003,the Egbema people had supported and voted for Manager, stressing that the senator has not reciprocated them in terms of attracting infrastructural development to their rural communities.
Alaowei Promise who is a member of Delta State Land/Waterways Security Committee and the National President of Egbema Brotherhood lamented that the only access road project in Egbema Kingdom has been abandoned by NDDC and the people are helpless about the situation.Hence,he called on their political leader Senator James Manager to arrest the circumstances facing Ufunama road project .
In his words,Alaowei said;” Manager, the Egbema Ijaws have stood by you in all trying times. We have fought our kingsmen politically just to make sure you have it.
It is high time you reciprocate them and start your campaign from Egbema kingdom.Meet with the people at the grassroots in the rural villages. It will surprise you that, most of our parents have been hearing your name voting for you always but have not seen you in person.
The Egbema Ijaws needs urgent government attention. Please use your good office as a senator to influence development and reach out to NDDC to resume work in the abandoned Ofunama road in Egbema kingdom, which is the only road that connect the whole of Egbema,Alaowei Lawuru stated. “
