Comrade Okorie passes a vote of no confidence on INEC ….

The Delta State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Comrade Kenneth Okorie has described the postponement of the presidential and National Assembly elections by INEC as a national disaster, and a gross show of incompetence on the part of the electoral umpire.
Comrade Okorie who was speaking to newsmen on the ugly development affirmed that the chairman and the leadership of INEC should be cautioned against taking Nigerians for a ride.

According to him, the commission has failed integrity test,it has allowed the powers that be to interfere in its activities and has proved to be unserious in the execution of the election after receiving all the funds and logistics needed for the elections.

He said as at yesterday the commission still assured Nigerians of its readiness to conduct the elections and wondered what led to the postponement.

He added that it will be hard for the commission to win the confidence of the electorate and observers from all parts of the global community based on its refusal to open up on its challenges that culminated in the shift in the morning of the election.

The youth leader urged INEC to put its house in order to ensure that the new date becomes a reality as Nigerians are out to use their votes to correct anomalies bedeviling the country.
Comrade Okorie equally called on Deltans and Nigerians not to be deterred but should be set to vote out any incompetent government that will not allow democracy to take root in the country.

He also condemned in strong terms the violence going on in some parts of the country and called on the security agents to rise to the occasion to ensure that peace is restored to flashpoints.

Comrade Okorie commended the international observers for their resilience and appealed to them not to allow the postponement force them to travel back to their countries pointing out that their presence will ultimately make a huge difference in the electoral process
