Group Accuses INEC Commissioner of Diversion of Delta Central Senatorial Election Result Sheets

A group, Alliance for Social Justice and Human Rights has called on the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to as a matter of urgency prevail on INEC National Commissioner for Edo, Delta and Akwa-Ibom states, Dr. Mohammed Lecky Mustapha to submit all wards result, local government areas result sheets and final election result sheets for Delta Central Senatorial District, ahead of Saturday, February 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections to avert looming crisis in the area.

In a petition signed by Activist Edmund Atas and Comrade Williams Asama, Coordinator and Acting Secretary of Alliance for Social Justice and Human Rights respectively and addressed to INEC Chairman, stated in the petition that before the postponed February 16 election, some wards, local government areas and final result sheets for Delta Central Senatorial election were alleged to be in possession of some compromised INEC officials at Abudu in Edo state in a bid to rig the election for an opposition party candidate.

The group accused the INEC Commissioner of conniving with a former INEC staff who is a sister to one of the contending party candidate in recruiting security guards of University of Benin as Collation and Returning Officers for the Delta Central Senatorial Election.

The petition reads, “we are very much aware that employees of Federal Government Institutions were the cadre of citizens engaged by the commission as ad-hoc staff for the position of Collation Officers, Returning Officers and amongst others. However very large number of Staff from Federal Institutions in Delta State like the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) Effurun, Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, Petroleum Training Institute and even Staff of Federal Civil Service at the Federal Secretariat, Asaba were denied engagements by INEC despite having applied and are also qualified for the positions they were unjustly not engaged as ad-hoc staff. For an election that would be conducted in Delta State they were denied the right of first refusal”.

According to the petition, “this despicable state of affairs is a deliberate ploy by Dr. Mustapha Lecky Mohammed to sadly give the positions to Staff of Federal Institutions from Edo State where he hails from with the intent of using them to rig the elections by fabricating non-existent results at collation of results.

“It is a sad commentary that even security men from Federal institutions like University of Benin in Edo State got the jobs that Professors from Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) in Delta State could not get just because Dr. Mustapha Lecky Mohammed wants to allegedly use them to engage in massive rigging. It is worthy of note that some of these ad-hoc Staff are believed to be partisan members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Edo State who do not even know the terrain of Delta State.

While calling on the INEC chairman to immediately redeploy, Dr. Mustapha Lecky Mohammed, INEC National Commissioner for Edo, Delta and Akwa-Ibom states, the group urges agents of other political parties to be on alert as there are plans to preload card readers and engage thugs who will disguise with INEC reflectors in a bid to rig the election in favour of one of the contending political parties’ candidate.

APC WEAKENED IN BURUTU AS CHAIRMAN LOOSES FAITH IN PARTY, ”WHY UDUAGHAN WILL NOT GET MUCH VOTES IN BURUTU”

By Ezekiel Kagbala (FRR)

Their Chairman, All Progressive Congress, APC Burutu local government area, Comrade Prince Owei have cried out, over failure of party leaders to release funds for mobilisation of some Wards in Burutu LGA, weakening the party chances of winning in the LGA.

He noted that there is a disconnect between state leadership of the party, local government chairmen and the ward leaders.

Prince Owei who spoke with our media teams in Warri yesterday noted that APC is weak in Burutu as lack of funding hindered most of the party activities.

some Burutu ward leaders who suppose to mobilize for the APC senatorial candidate, Dr. Emanuel Uduaghan, were conspicuously absent the day they suppose to got to their various wards and mobilize votes for candidates of the party before the postponement of the elections by INEC.

Our source also gathered that the APC senatorial candidate made adequate provisions for all the ward leaders in the senatorial district including Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri, Isoko even extensive to some unit coordinators.

However, the Burutu party chairman disclosed that there is a serious in-house problem in the Burutu APC, there are complainants that should be addressed if the party is ready to Win elections in Burutu LGA.

Prince Owei exonerated the various Burutu Ward leaders of blame for performing poorly in their wards. He said “The various ward leaders are working for the party without money to organize ward meetings and mobilize its people to votes for candidates. Some of the candidates and members who have the financial capacity decided to deal with friends who defected party with them to the APC, I was not called upon to witness the disbursement of any provided logistics”.

“I was told that money was disbursed to some persons to mobilize some Wards. I was not informed that there will be any sort of disbursement of funds, rather some persons were contacted to collect money without my knowledge”.

He added further that, for the party to get voted in Burutu local government, these issues must be addressed to give everyone a sense of belonging in the party,’’ he said

The “Amada-suo” was one of those deities used in the famous British-Akassa war, several occasions it has proven it potency, in addition, we will be having the famous ‘OSOWEI’ festival, Osowei is a deity of the forest, the keeper, guardian and Kings of all forest (Bounanawei).

The event will be presided over by Priest Eneyi alias Akpakirikpon, a Prophet, seer and a former high priest of the then MEND days, precisely at Boyloaf Barrack, up to the disarmament stage.

Amada-suo is the Supreme deity of the Agadas known as Ekpetiama people, history speak of Agada as a fearless warrior, the Amada-suo, has been a major tool for fearlessly defending the lands, people and terrain of Ijaws.

This event will hold at AVEN community, in Patani LGA, Delta state, a migrant town of Bumoundi people in Ekpetiama kingdom in present day Bayelsa.

It is with great pleasure, we once again invite you all to be in attendance, some of the features of the event include,: warboat display, canoe race, Traditonal baptism and sanctification, wrestling, masquerade display, etc.

By, Francis Tayor, Yenagoaa

Calls On Federal Government Immediate Intervention.

Demands Sack Of Mrs Bomoere,Betty,Timothy And Others Over Corrupt Practices In The Amnesty Office.

The Ex-Agitators of Niger-Delta students who applied for the Federal Government Presidential Amnesty Scholarship Programme has threatened to storm National Assembly and office of the National Security Advicer (NSA) in a protest to express their displeasure over non deployment to study in the university by the Amnesty Office.

The group of students numbering over two thousands cut across the Nine Niger-Delta States including;Ondo,Edo,Delta, Bayelsa,Rivers,Akwa-Ibom,Cross Rivers,IMO and Abia State made this known to Journalists shortly after a crucial meeting held at Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital yesterday, accused one Mrs Bomoere who is the Head of Education in the Amnesty Office of exhibiting corrupt practices by deploying people who are not part of the Amnesty programme, thereby depriving the real recipients with UN-CODE numbers to study.

They call on Prof.Charles Dokubo to immediate terminate Bomoere job alongside Mr Timothy and Ms Bekky on corrupt practices in the Amnesty Office for not answering phone calls neither respond to text whenever they had issue to sort out.

According to the aggrieved Amnesty recipients, said; “We have being verified by Mr Peter Jack who is the Head of Data for deployment to the various universities, but Mrs Bomoere refused to deploy us for no genuine reason. We
hereby call on President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly to set up a panel to prob the Amnesty office because some of the departments in the office are not doing what they ought to do.

The group alleged that the Coordinator,Prof.Charles Dokubo is negligence to duty and should be also called to order because he is not capable of doing his job.Dokubo should know that we the Niger-Delta militants are the owners of the Amnesty Office, hence they should attend to our demands immediately. We want to attain Western Education and never go back to the creeks, yet we are being deprived of our Rights by the Head of Education.

Organization whereby your worker is flaunting, the head is to be blamed.Charles Dokubo is not closely monitoring his workers, hence things are going wrong in the Amnesty Office. As head,If you are not doing your job diligently, that means you are not qualified to be in that office. We therefore, charged Prof.Dokubo to immediately deploy us within four days time and order the sack of H.O.E Mrs Bomoere, the Relationship Manager (RM) Igbenedion University,Mr Timothy and the RM Novena University,Ms Bekky on the ground of incompetent to duty .”

The group further blow alarm that the Presidential Amnesty Education Programme had being hijacked by politicians in collaboration with the Coordinator, stressing that they have concrete evidence to prove what they are saying. They call on President Buhari,National Assembly, Office of the National Security Advicer,International Communities,IYC and INC to as a matter of urgency intervene on the matter before things get out of hand, the group asserted.

However, the group hereby attached with some of the Amnesty Scholarship recipients with UNcode number who are yet to be deployed by the Head of Education for prompt attention or else, vow to storm National Assembly in four days time for a protest to tell the world.
