WHY I WANT TO REPRESENT BOMADI CONSTITUENCY – Comr Tam Oborumu Reveals

THEOREM OF LEADERSHIP
(Why I am Contending to Represent Bomadi Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly )

Official Declaration of My Masses Driven Ambition
by Comr. Tam Oburumu

Introduction –

I am Tamaraukepreye Oburumu ,known widely as comrade Tam Oburumu .I am paternally from ogbeinama, ward six of Bomadi LGA and maternally from Ayakoromo, ward seven, Burutu LGA.
I have a degree in English studies of the Obefemi Awolowo university 2005. I did my primary education in Bomadi, Ayakoromo and Okpokunou towns and my secondary in Ayakoromo and very briefly in kpakiama.
I am in my early forties ,a writer, civil rights activist, teacher, TV and radio programs analyst .
I am a direct grandson of Chief T. O Onduku (the renowned Ijaw educationist ,historian and Ijaw language alphabet progenitor. )

WHY I WANT TO REPRESENT BOMADI CONSTITUENCY

I am very sad, truly and passionately sad about the deliberately engineered poor and grossly incompetent representation meted out on the hapless citizens of Bomadi constituency by a group of selfish political syndicate .

From 1999 to date ,representation in the Bomadi constituency is nothing but a colossal failure in terms of leadership and legislative competence. Our people are at the receiving end of this tragedy, experiencing neglect and underdevelopment from persons whose duties are to promote and protect the constituents.

This is what I want to correct. I want to give my good people of bomadi constituency, the true definition of representation in which their immediate needs will be a top priority.

The previous and present opportunists lucky enough to have ingloriously benefited as legislators from the primitive syndrome of imposition have offered nothing but glare legislative mediocrity and incompetence..An embarrassing situation every well meaning individual in Bomadi constituency is tired of. This, I want to correct.

As a legislator, I am going to be accessible and accountable on every single appropriation which our people have never experienced before . My leadership will be completely driven by the will of the people .

There shall be physical and psychological development of the people through the provision of good education and self reliant programs for the youths and the elderly ones .

A constituency office shall be established in Bomadi town to provide the opportunity for constituents to lay complaints and suggestions. This is aside the frequent town hall meetings I will be holding monthly with very ward under my constituency.

The propagation, sponsoring of bills and moving of motions for the collective interest of the people will be given a top priority during my legislative days.

I will be very vocal during plenary and actively participate in bills passages and budget presentations to the benefit of my constituents.

I am going to make sure vital infrastructural projects in my constituency are included in the budget through lobbying and by any means necessary.

The constituency development funds I receive shall be published openly ,accounted for and will be used for human faced projects through the direct involvement of the constituents.

The usual impunity of siphoning the constituency development funds by this present carefree representative will be put to an end.

I will also create platforms for youth leadership and entrepreneurship skills. Great responsibilities shall be given to our youths to give them the self confidence and ability to excel in any chosen field.

I am ready to make the impact people think is impossible.

Today, Bomadi LGA has no good hospital, road, electricity, water, school because of bad leadership and selfish representation. Cultism, prostitution, truancy and drug abuse are in the high side amongst the youths because we have leaders who take pleasure in abandoning the plight of the youths.. They only use them to kill and rig elections. This I will stop.

We are in this sorry state in our constituency because of the level of

Military men Shoot Sporadically, As They Invade Ateke Tom’s Palace In Okochiri, Rivers State

By, Whaley

Men in military uniform on Thursday invaded the palace of ex-militant leader and traditional ruler, Ateke Tom in Okochiri, Rivers State.

It is still unclear if they were Nigerian Army soldiers.

They broke into the palace and ransacked the entire building. They also fired gunshots into certain areas in the palace grounds.

This came one week after Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike accused General Officer Commanding ( GOC) 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamil Sarhem of planning to cause chaos ahead of the governorship election on Saturday.

Wike, in a chat with newsmen, said’ “Nigerians watched in utter dismay as three Local Government Electoral Officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC ) indicted soldiers of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army for orchestrating electoral violence, snatching election materials and criminally colluding with APC leaders to concoct results during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

“Rather than respond to these allegations, the GOC is making diversionary allegations.

“These weighty indictments of the officers and men of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army by the INEC Officials confirm earlier intelligence that the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6 Division, Major General Jamil Sarham is neck deep in the killings of Rivers people and manipulation of the elections.

“Mrs Mary Efeture Imawuya INEC Electoral Officer of Ikwerre LGA, INEC Electoral Officer for Emohua Local Government Area, Kenneth Etah and INEC Electoral Officer of Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr Leo Okon who addressed the Rivers East Senatorial District Collation Centre at Elekahia were unequivocal in their indictments of the soldiers and their criminal activities during the elections.

“The major problem they should defend is the INEC Officers who declared that the soldiers of the Nigerian Army abducted them , carted away materials and concocted results”, he added.

The governor noted that it was the soldiers and the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who abducted the the Electoral Officer of Ikwerre LGA and compelled her to write results.

MARCH 9: MILITARIZATION OF NIGER DELTA, A CALL FOR ANARCHY- GBARAMATU SPOKESMAN, GBENEKAMA REVEALS

SAYS DELTA CENTRAL MUST RESPECT ZONING ARRANGEMENT OR FORGET 2023

Chief Godspower Gbenekama JP

As Saturday March 9 Governorship and Houses of Assembly elections approaches the Fiyewei (Spokesman) of the Great Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, Chief Godspower GBENEKAMA JP has revealed that militarization of Niger Delta because of the polls is a call for anarchy against the people of the region.

Chief Gbenekama made the revealation known in Warri, Delta State, he also expressed dismay over the call of military to take over the water ways by APC National Chairman and other chieftains of the party in order to disenfranchise people of the area especially Gbaramatu indigenes and other Riverine communities from exercising their voting rights.

According to him “I have come across both in the print and electronic media, the plan by the ruling party(APC) in the state to influence the party hierarchy at the federal level to send military personnel to the delta state, to ensure that the APC wins the state by all means.

I have also read in the news that the President have been making statements as to the need of taking over Delta state by all means. As for the vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, he said Delta state can not remain in opposition. These statement have been corroborated by the Chairman of the APC Comrade Adams Oshomole, knowing the character of Oshomole am not suprised but the worrisome part in all these is the actions of the President, when he held security meeting with security chiefs and directed the security chiefs to focus on sending military personnel to the Niger Delta and to ensure that the men are sent to the region during the Gubernatorial Elections More worrisome is the unguided speech by a youth during the recent town hall meeting held in Effurun, where he called on the President to send security men to some riverine local governments areas in Delta state”.

The Gbaramatu Traditional Council Spokesman reiterated that the entire Gbaramatu Kingdom and its neighbours have been in peace even before and after the Presidential and National Assembly elections, noting that fallacious opinion from some APC members subjecting Bomadi, Burutu and Warri South-West LGAs as area where militants assist PDP to rig elections as facetious lies, he wondered why people are so much in love with crisis, adding that they will refuse crisis in all its ramifications in the Niger Delta no matter who wants to gain from it. “we are at peace here, the heavy presence of the military as demanded by the APC would not bring any peace but confusion and rancour. what is the wisdom in sending military to a peaceful area when Nigeria has its hands full already with fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram killing people at will, the military and our President Muhammadu Buhari should direct their energy at those places and restore peace and order that part of the country, that is why he has the legitimacy to preside over the crude oil and gas that is found in my father’s backyard”.

Chief Gbenekama further disclosed that since 2015 when the present administration of APC led federal government came into power, the Niger Delta and particularly Gbaramatu kingdom have been over militarised, within every two three kilometres, there is a military houseboat all over Warri South-West local government area In Gbaramatu especially every three kilometres, there would be a pair of houseboat, one for the Navy another for the Army across the length and breadth of the kingdom, adding that anyone requesting that more military men be sent to our communities does not wish them well as the APC have by their actions, “It means, there is a grand design to oppress, subdue and subjugate our people”.

He as well appealed to Delta central to try and be their brothers keeper by adhering to the unwritten understanding in Delta state where Governors are rotated arround the three Senatorial zones which the last two came from Delta central and Delta south respectively, An Urhobo man Chief James Ibori from Delta central and an Itsekiri man, Dr.Emmanuel Udughaghan from Delta south all served their two tenures eight years each as allowed by the Nigerian constitution, he noted that Ijaws are one of the largest ethnic nationalities in the state are patiently waiting for their turn,so are the Isokos of Delta south, he urged Urhobos to support Governor Okowa to complete his second tenure if not they should forget 2023 he assured Dr. Okowa of Gbaramatu votes again to continue till 2023.

Chief Gbenekama JP pointed out that the Pere of the Great Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oboro Gbaraun 11Aketekpe, Agadegba has directed his subjects to ensure that they peace law and order so as not to give the security agencies the avenue to maltreat them, urging them to mobilize to their various communities to cast their ballot peacefully and make it count without violence, The Great Gbaramatu Monarch warned criminal elements to stay clear from the Kingdom and its environs.

Sheriff Mulade, Caution Youths to Shun Ballot Box Snatching, Ahead Of The Forth Coming 2019 Governorship/House of Assembly Elections

By, Francis Tayor, Lagos

Ahead of the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections, a renowned environmentalist and peace advocate, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has called on the electorates to be peaceful and vote for candidates that will deliver on their mandates, rather than voting for political parties that are mere platforms for contesting elections.

Comrade Mulade who is the National Coordinator, Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), charged Nigerians to vote for candidates who will commit themselves in their various States to achieving economic, infrastructural and human capital development which, according to him, are lacking in many Nigerian states.

Sheriff Mulade, disclossed this, in the round table parley with journalists in Lagos on the state of the nation and the March 9,2019 elections.

The Peace Advocate noted that, “Democratic dividends are yet to reflect in the lives of Nigerians as over fifty percent of the populace live below one dollar per day”.

He added that democracy has become a gorgeously dressed anathema with a few persons benefiting from the instituted democratic practice, while to a large proportion of the populace who really need attention, democracy is a dry bone.

He said governance should not be contrary to the people’s expectations as democracy must be the bedrock through which millions of Nigerians should be liberated from poverty and want.

He wondered why most people complain and criticise government’ if democracy is profitable. He called for protection for the ordinary Nigerian on the street, especially the increasing number of beggers, most of whom resort to begging because they are jobless.

Comrade Mulade said his desire was to see the electorate vote for the candidates who have the interest of the masses at heart. He stressed the need for improvement in the area of job creation, infrastructural and human capital development in many states of the Federation particularly my State Delta inclusive.

He urged Nigerians particularly the electorates to come out en-mass and vote for credible and dependable candidates of their choice and not political parties.

Comrade Mulade asserted that the 2019 governorship and House of Assembly elections would afford the electorates the opportunities to enthrone good governance by ensuring that only credible persons with proven leadership qualities are voted into public offices.

The Peace Advocate noted that the electorates have the opportunity to rescue and save our democracy from power drunk, selfish and greedy politicians with the syndrome of sit tied who put themselves forward to be elected”.

“Rather than voting for a candidate for the sake of a political party,Comrade Mulade urged voters to think about electing persons who will understand, promote and design implementable policies and programmes that showcase the candidate’s knowledge of the people and their needs for sustenance. He strongly advised the electorates especially the youths not to get involved in any form of electoral violence such as ballot box snatching, hijacking, fighting etc before, during and after the elections, Comr.Mulade stated.”
