Ajakurama communities under the warri North local government area Delta state have been tensions over two weeks ago and nothing was done, living became difficult to our mothers and fathers , since 18th April 2019, there is an ongoing fire explosion from a well-head in our neighboring communities in Egbema kingdom, now leading to serious dangerous health and ecological hazards many are running for their safety, all economical activities disorganized in the area. We urged the federal government to order above oil and gas multinational chevron company to find an immediate remedy .
The Ajakurama voice P. R. O chief frank I. T. W Beke who raised an alarms during on chat, complaint to the Ajakurama voice National president comrade Mingo S.F. Meshach that the live of our people are in an active danger, because of Chevron Nigerian Limited (CNL), the operator of the Ikpalakpala-bou well-head, situated in Polobubo (Tsekelewu )community, Egbema kingdom.
well head fire pulled out some dangerous and killing air , whereby different gas burning for ten days now, the affected Ajakurama villages are Asigborodor-gben Baribotei-gben, Uyabebekorigha-gben, Koropinabou-gben, Putubou-gben, Erewojeri gben, Awanba-gben, Itagben, Arukaratubu-gben.
The president of the apex body who addressed the newsmen in warri town, lamented the dangerous smokes that came out from the head fire, many can’t freely open their house, children and pregnant women are hospitalized in various hospitals.
Prior to some claims and publications, The Nation gathered that the Ikpalakpala-bou well-head had been on fire as well as spewing gas into the atmosphere since April 18, 2019, a situation which the leaders of Polobubo community claimed had resulted into a number of health cases and shortage of consumable water.
According to Chevron had addressed well-head in a letter sent to the community as Ojumale, name of a community in the neighbouring Ondo state.
All called on federal government to swiftly intervene before situations go out of control.
