Youth from the Ondo state oil producing communities are protesting at the Office of the Ondo state oil producing areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC over alleged lopsidedness in the recruitment Exercise by the commission.
The youth under aegis of the IJaw Youth Council claimed that the management of OSOOADEC is planning to marginalize applicants from Ese Odo local Government in the recruitment exercise.
The protest was led by the chairman in charge of Ondo, Edo, Delta, Pemi Eric, the aggrieved protesters lamented that application for recruitment was only advertised 30 minutes to close of work on Friday and submission of forms is slated for 7th October.
They described the arrangement as worrisome and unacceptable.
The youth claimed that OSOPADEC is densely populated by ilaje local Government and staff from other local Government which they say is against the OSOPADEC Act.
The protesters called for extension of the recruitment exercise to enable more prospective applicants to participate in the exercise
