Amnesty: Don’t Take Our Patience For Granted, We Will Cripple The Nation Economy, Ex- agitators Give FG, Dokubo Four Days To Call Back Amnesty Delegates For Training

As the four days ultimatum to resume attack in the creek issued to Federal Government of Nigeria and the multinational oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region,on the delay of training amnesty delegates by the Presidential Amnesty Office expires today, the ex-agitators has renewed its initial threat issued to strike oil pipelines in additional four days time, if President Muhammadu Buhari refused to address the problem facing amnesty delegates.

The group of delegates in their renewed issued threat statement today at Warri said, federal government President Muhammadu Buhari, multinational oil companies and Prof. Charles Dokubo should not take their patience for granted, stressing that they are still equal to the task to carryout destruction of oil pipelines in the creeks in a twinkle of an eye to bring down the nation’s economy.

Speaking to the Press at Warri today, Mr.Bololo Pude on behalf of the 185 delegates who are entitled for six months training at Izonebi training center Igando Lagos said, ” we decided to extend the date for action to this weekend Friday 19th July, believing that President Muhammadu Buhari have a listening ear and is on top the matter. We also felt that,Prof. Charles Dokubo is also working out modalities to that effect. It is wise that we give them more time to put things in order for our own good.But be as it may, we urged federal and the amnesty office to act fast, and don’t take our patience for granted.”

” Mr.Bololo reiterated that, We are keeping hope alive that, with the extension of additional four working days, the amnesty office would be able to put in place every logistics needed for the training.Therefore, we decided to exercise more little patience to see unfolding development from the amnesty office.

Meanwhile,any further disappointment from the side of federal government in respect of our training, the world shall bear us witness that we warned Nigeria government, but it takes us for granted. And the result from our actions after this ultimatum,the negative effect to our nation’s economy would be very bad and disastrous,Bololo stated.”

Meanwhile, it would recalled that, on the 24th of June 2019, the Coordinator for training Presidential amnesty office, Mrs.Enetimi Bonozigha Evah called amnesty delegates on phone to prepare ahead for amnesty entrepreneur training today 15th July, 2019 at Izonebi training center lgando, Lagos.

Thereafter, they where called again on the 8th of this month July, barely a week to the training and where asked to stay back without any proper information on the reason why they should not go for training.

However, they called on President Muhammadu Buhari,the leadership of the National Assembly and Prof.Charles Dokubo as a matter of urgency to amicably addressed every lingering problem in the amnesty office,so that the potential delegates could go for training without any further delay,the statement adds.


Sheriff Mulade Ijaw And Itsekiri Peace, Unity Cup Begins November 2019

The second edition of the Comrade Amb. Sheriff Mulade Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity cup will begin November 16 to November 30 2019 in Warri South-West of Delta State.

According to a statement made available by the Sponsor/initiator of the biennial football competition, Ambassador Comrade Sheriff Mulade officially declared that the football competition which is also known as “Comrade Sheriff Mulade peace and unity cup” started in 2017, noting that the essence of the game was set up as a critical forum to demonstrate and promote the oneness, peace and unity among Ijaw and Itsekiri communities who have had a long history of rivalry and conflicts.

Comrade Mulade who is also the National Coordinator Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, also revealed that his reasons to use the round leather game, which is recognized world wide “is to forester Peace in his Ijaw/Itsekiri regions”, came from his knowledge of Football as an instrument that builds tranquility, cohesion, love and unity.

He disclosed that the football competition is also part of the efforts he puts in place to harness football talents in Delta State.

Comrade Mulade, is a member of the Delta State Football Association Board, ( DFAB ), noted that the 2nd edition of the annual Comrade Mulade Sheriff Peace is also focused at discovering young talents in the riverine communities of Warri South-West of Delta State.

Comrade Mulade, in his statement in Warri, disclosed that the competition will concentrate on building peaceful coexistence and promoting unity among Ijaw, Itsekiri and Ilaje people in Warri and its environs, assuring that attention will also be on selection of young players with exceptional talents for professional football playing.

According to him, “the communities will have to pick younger players to represent them because African Grassroots Football Development team will be on ground to select the best players.” He said they should therefore not go out of their communities to hire players, so that gifted youths in the riverine areas can be discovered.

He cautioned against winning at all costs which has badly destroyed football at the local and national levels in Nigeria.

The CEPEJ Boss said this year’s competition will hold in two venues to give a sense of belonging to the three tribes, with one venue each in Itsekiri and Ijaw towns to further cement the relationship among them, pointing out that this year’s event will be played on a knockout basis featuring teams from Ijaw, Itsekiri and Ileja communities within Warri and its environs.

Meanwhile, Comrade Mulade has also appealed to well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to partner with the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, in the sponsorship of the IJAW/ ITSEKIRI PEACE & UNITY CUP, to help promote peaceful coexistence, build bridges of unity, attract development and create enabling environment for Deltans, particularly Multi-National oil and gas companies operating within the area.

He noted that companies and individuals partnering in the great drive to uplift the youths through football will be welcomed.

Comrade Mulade added “Partnership will make the competition bigger and more laudable,” noting that it would be glorious on their parts to discover and build talents which will be epochal in communities where they do business.

2019 Comrade Mulade Essay Competition: 11- Year Old Riverine Student Wins Three Quiz Competition, Get Scholarship

11- year old Egbema-born JSS 2 student of Tsekelewu Secondary School in Warri North Local Government Area, Miss Success Dariji has won the fourth edition of Comrade Sheriff Mulade Inter Local Government Quiz and Essay Competitions for Junior and Secondary Schools respectively, in the rural/riverine areas of Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas of Delta State.

Miss Dariji automatically earned herself a secondary school scholarship for winning the Quiz aspect of the competition.

Ojiko Ebiye of Gbaraun Grammar School, Oporoza in Gbaramatu, Warri South-West Local Government Area, came out tops in the Essay competition organized for secondary schools.

Topic of the Essay Competition was Environmental Degradation: Effects and Solution.

The competition was part of efforts to improve the quality of education in Warri Federal Constituency and foster peaceful coexistence among people of the area.

The organizer/sponsor of the competitions, Comrade Sheriff Mulade in his remarks, noted, “it is only education that has the driving force to eradicate conflict among various ethnic groups living in Nigeria especially Ijaw and Itsekiri brothers”.

According to him, lack of early education in the rural areas led to denial of so many opportunities and underdevelopment of rural/riverine communities in the past.

He explained the essence of the quiz and essay competition was to bridge the gap between pupils and students of riverine/rural schools and their urban counterparts in terms of academics.

Comrade Mulade who is the National Coordinator, Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, cum Global Peace Ambassador, appealed to government at all levels, NGOs and well -meaning individuals to pay more attention to education.

The Quiz competition had participants from three schools in each of the local government areas. The schools were St. Kabe Secondary School, Tsekelewu, Warri North, Tsekelewu Secondary School, Warri North, Alema College, Abigborodo, Warri North, Obodo College in Warri South, Erejuwa 11 Grammar School, Ode-Itsekiri, Warri South, Egbokodo-Itsekiri Secondary School, Warri South, St. Cletus Secondary School, Naifor Island, Warri South-West, Gbaraun Grammar School Oporoza, Warri South-West and Kokodiagbene Secondary School, Kokodiagbene in Warri South-West Local Government Area.

While presenting the star and consolation prizes to the winners, Comrade Mulade charged the students to be committed to their studies and shun negative vices so as not to derail their education pursuit.

Other winners in the Essay competition are Divine Princewill of Obodo College Warri, who emerged second and Eke Akachukwu of Egbokodo Secondary School, who won the third position.

Others who spoke during the event include Chief Inspector of Education, CIE for Warri South-West, Mrs. Okerie Christiana, CIE, Ika South, Mr. Eze Ariwojo as well as teachers and students.

A major breakthrough to develop Mega City from Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, was on Tuesday June 25, reached with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to kick –start processes for the development of a 7,000 hectares of land and water into what would be called Delta-Ukpokiti Industrial City.

The MoU was signed at Warri South Council Main Secretariat between Finest Investment Limited and Partsmaster Overseas Limited, with Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, appending his imprimatur as witness.

Chief Charles Akeni, who spoke on behalf of one of the investors, Partsmaster Overseas Limited, stated that the proposed city would be bigger than Warri and Effurun Urban put together, with modern Industries, residential areas, railways, stadium and several other facilities associated with a 21st century Mega City like Dubai.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, while expressing delight with the signing of the MoU, assured that his administration will provide the necessary support so as to actualize the project.

Dr. Tidi who pledged to engage Royal Fathers and youths in the area with a view to making them key into the Mega City project, disclosed that the second edition of Warri Economic Summit will be staged October this year, with larger audience and renowned resource persons.

The Head of Personnel Management of Warri South Local Government Council, Mr. Douglas Akambe and Treasurer to the Local Government, Mr. Otighi Sunday also witnessed the ceremony.

Breaking!!! I Remain Leader Of Warri South Legislative Arm, Says Disgruntled Councilors Broke Into The Clerk’s Office, Whisked The Mace – Edafiajebres

It was earlier reported that the Leader of Warri South Local Government Council Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Edafiajebre has insisted that he “remains the authentic Leader of Warri South legislative Arm”, saying that he moved for adjournment during the House Sitting of Tuesday June 18, when he noticed that “some disgruntled members of the House started disrupting” proceedings.

Hon. Edafiajebre explained that he first noticed the disruption when he called on the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to present report of the 2019 fiscal estimate for consideration, after completing work on the budget estimate earlier proposed by the council executive.

According to Hon. Edafiajebre, it was after the plenary was adjourned by him and the Mace of the House duly moved to the Office of the Clerk, that the “disgruntled” members led by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Ochuko Eyekpimi, Hon. Jude Igerebo, Hon. Paul Jessa, Hon. Femi Okorodiden and Hon. Ogbitse Osanweren, reportedly broke into the Office of the Clerk and made away with the Mace.

Clerk of Warri South legislative Arm, Comrade Godfrey Affor Maku, corroborated the testimony of Hon. Edafiajebre, as at the time of this report, the whereabouts of the Mace was unknown.
