Barr E.V. ONOJEGHUO WEPT IN FEDERAL HIGH COURT ASABA

The counsel to the first to forth defendants, Barr E.V. Onojeghuo argued that since the Appeal court reserved judgement till later date that the federal high court has no jurisdiction to proceed in trail of the case before his lordship.

In his prayers, counsel to plaintiffs, Barr O.J. Oghenejakpor disagreed and told the honourable judge that since the Appeal court in Benin struck out the stay of proceeding filed by the defendants, that his lordship can proceed the trail of the case.

After carefully examining the prayers from both counsels, the judge ruled that the case should continue, the judge said that no amount of technicalities bring into play will stop the case.

Drama started when Apc Delta State chairman, Olorogun Cyril Abeye Ogodo was called to the witness box and presentation of exhibit A to J was tended for registration by counsel to the plaintiffs, O.J Oghenejakpor Esq, then counsel to the defendants, E.V Onojeghuo Esq stood up and told the judge that he can no longer continue with the case.

E.V. Onojeghuo continued interjecting of proceedings and after broken down in tears led to the judge to call for more reinforcement from the Nigerian police and he was restricted from leaving the court room.

Barr O.J. Onoghenejakpor pleaded on behalf of Barr E.V Onojeghuo and the case was adjourned till tomorrow Thursday the17th day of January… And those present said as the court pleases.
