…..Commends Bayelsa State Government For The State Drug Distribution Center…..
Movement for the Survival of Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) through its National Secretary, Amb. Winston Amain has condemned the way and manner in which staffers and medical officers in the Federal Medical Center, FMC, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State carry out their duties.
Hospital is where people who are sick/ill or injured are given treatment and care but in the case of FMC Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, the reverse is the case. Its on this note that we are calling on the state government, to set up a panel of inquiry to Look into this matter before it gets out of hand as Bayelsans are no longer safe.
According to the MOSIEND scribe ” the lackadaisical attitude of medical practitioners is becoming unbearable.
“These staffs have deliberately choose not to care for patients because most of the referral centers are owned by them and have chosen to refer patients to these referral centers where they end up spending huge amounts of money”.
Amb. Amain uses this medium to call on the state government to look into this injustice being meted on our people. Noting that though, FMC is a federal institution but it is Bayelsans that loose their loved ones on a daily bases.
Amb. Amain however commend the state Government for the establishment of the State Drug Distribution Center which is already open to Bayelsans for use.
