Peace: Seek dialogue with Tompolo, El Zakzazy, Bakumor urges FG

Convener of the Inter Peace Dialogue, Priest Ellington Bakumor has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to seek dialogue with High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo and El Zakzazy for a more united country.

Peace: Seek dialogue with Tompolo, El Zakzazy, Bakumor urges FG

The convener had particularly stated that the federal government must negotiate with religious leaders in the country, rather than persecuting them, stressing that while Tompolo is the Spiritual leader in African Traditional Spirituality of his Indigenous Ijaw Traditional Faith, El Zakzazy is the leader of the Shiite Muslims of Nigeria.

Ellington Bakumor, priest of Egbesu, convener of the Inter Faith Peace Dialogue made the call on Tuesday in Abuja during its 2018 programme, tagged “National Unity and Peace Building Before, During and After 2019 General Elections, The Role of Religious Organizations”.

However, Bakumor had stated that the Inter Faith Peace dialogue was born out of the desire for youths in the country to take up the responsibility of contributing toward peace and unity across the country by seeking for solutions together as a people.

Meanwhile, in what appears like a shocking revelation to some Nigerians, Ellington had stated that religion has done more harm in the society, stressing that many towns, villages and families had been wiped out.

Bakumor had in his welcome address called on Nigerians to celebrate oneness and unity in the country.

The address read in part: “The Idea is for us to focus more on the ideals that Unite us rather than those that divide us, to remind all of us that we are first human beings and we are 99% of the time didn’t choose the religion we currently practice because we were either born into it or forced into it by time , place and circumstances of our birth .

“Religion was meant for man to seek means of communing with his creator and its message generally has been love, forgiveness and Tolerance this is why one of the world’s peace expert describes religion as a means to grow love for God , for self, for neighbours and for humanity but instead over time religion became corrupted and rather used as a tool for conquest, for colonisation and mass control, as you and I know Religion has become one of the major reasons for chaos , Brother Ishmael Tetteh writes

“Causes of Conflicts are The two institutions that have influenced the life of humanity, and respectively control man’s inner and outer worlds, are religion and politics. Unfortunately from these two proceed the segregationist and factional ideologies that have variously created religious fanaticism, political fanaticism, racial discriminations, tribalism and other “isms” responsible for some of the major conflicts and wars in our world.

“This Conference is to once again call on the humanity in each of us, fanatism and sentiment is fast spreading across board like a very dangerous cancer and if we are not careful it would consume all of us, in the light of past history and recent events it is safe for us to agree that religion has done to humanity more harm than God, in the name of Jesus and Jehovah and of Muhammad and Allah we have committed atrocities, wiped out towns and villages forced conversions , and hated one another.

“No one was born hating another, Nigerians use to be the most hospitable of people in the world and Nigeria as a country one of the most hospitable countries on earth but today it has become one of the unsafest places in the world according to recent world ratings . We cannot point fingers to cast blames but we must all feel responsible to a some extent and we must be ready to make proactive efforts, and conscious steps to making a better and more peaceful society.

“We must begin to look and focus on those things that Unite us more than those aspects that divide us, we must begin to think in terms of us as Nigerians rather than as Muslims, Christians or Traditionalists, when we were in the womb we didn’t belong to all the dogmas of religion , our minds was a Tabula Rasa (Empty Mind) we grew up we learnt all the good the bad and the uglies as we grew up, we learnt who or what to love , we learnt what to believe and what not to believe in , our ideologies of what is wrong and right was what they told us and taught us . But as we grow up we learn to see with our own eyes, what is wrong and what is right. Have you asked yourself before What is the religion of each of the Elements (Air, Fire, Water and Earth) that gives you life?

“Irrespective of our race creed or culture, we are all animated by the One Life that animates all this one life that Religion has choosed to call God, we are human beings and all religions agree that it was us that was created in God’s image and likeness, we must then strive to rise to this divine nature by cultivating God qualities of Love, Peace, tolerance , understanding and forgiveness, this is to have become a true child or servant of God

“Let’s Celebrate Oneness and Unity in diversity.
Let us understand that until we all are consciously part of a peace process we will all not have peace, it is our collective responsibility as human beings , we should teach our children the need for peace and tolerance from an early age, we should not discriminate, we should try to abolish caste system, we should try to create a society where people font believe or think that a certain class, tribe or group is trying to permanently or perpetually rule over others, the ideals of fairness , equity and justice should always prevail.

I want to also use this medium to advice the federal Government of Nigeria to seek more dialogue in its approach with religious leaders it has issues with, the few that comes to mind is the El Zakzazy the Leader of the Shiite Muslims of Nigeria , we also advice that the federal government should seek dialogue with Tompolo who is also regarded

AND YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH,AND IT SHALL SET U FREE -David Umahi

“If I say that President Buhari is constructing ROADS in the South East like never before, that is the TRUTH, not politics! It doesn’t mean I will vote for him, but my people deserve to know the TRUTH, after all, we can all see it!
I remain a PDP MEMBER, but President Buhari has DONE VERY WELL in the South East.

I can’t speak for other zones. If Buhari has indeed failed, it is not in the SOUTH EAST, may be in other regions… ”

If a woman is seeing her menstrual period, please do not do these 4 things;
That is to say:

1. Do not drink ice water, soda water or eat coconut during menstruation.

2. Do not apply shampoo on the head because the pores of the head are open during menstruation and can cause headache, it is very dangerous and this effect can be felt when you are young and later when you get older.

3. Do not eat cucumber during menstruation because the sap present in the cucumber can block menstruation (waste of blood) in the uterine wall and can cause sterility.

4. Also during menstruation,
Your body should not be hit or hit by hard objects, especially the abdomen because it can cause vomiting and the uterus can be injured. And these are the “ORIGINS OF CANCER OF UTERUS, CHEMICALS AND BARRENES”

RE: IJAW INTEREST ADVOCATES’ ILL-CONCEIVED COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED TO NDDC MD

I have noticed with utmost disgust the communiqué promulgated by the self-arrogated Ijaw Interest Advocates ,IIA through various social media platforms and the print media under its jumbled leadership to the Managing Director of The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Nsima Udo Ekere over purported negligence of the riverine communities in the Niger Delta by the commission.

While I do not wish to get entangled with the group’s frivolous activities and their hankering desire for cheap relevance and favour from government and private firms in the scheme of things through unprovoked blackmails and inexcusable fulmination, I wish to empathetically state with all sense of purpose as a concerned Niger Deltan that the prevailing leadership of the Niger Delta Development Commission under its Chief Executive Officer has been so far adjudged the best the commission has ever experienced.

Under the current management of the commission, there has not been a single project that has been relinquished or uncompleted or abandoned across the nine Niger Delta states.

Consequently, it is insensitive and as a matter of principle, tactless for any individual or group within and outside the region to call for the resignation of the NDDC boss.

To The Issue of Relief Materials And Flood.

Ordinarily, replying the communiqué issued by the Ijaw Interest Advocates would only accord undue and undeserving credence to the group but for the reason that the public is not misled, a rejoinder to the issues raised in your communiqué becomes profoundly indispensable.

Above and beyond, The Ijaw Interest Advocates have no right whatsoever to meddle with the political aspirations of the Managing Director. His ambition for the gubernatorial seat in Akwa Ibom has not in any way affected the proper operation and functioning of the commission. Dr Nsima U. Ekere is a technocrat and ambitious man who believes in the growth and human capital development of people. Let me equally state that it is highly insolent, contemptuous and to say the least, impolite, to refer to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission as a truant. This is height of recklessness and insubordination.

The group should know that their miscalculated efforts in repositioning the Ijaw nation as a major player in the Nigeria political, social and economic scene is only tainting her image through their various slanderous and blackmailing attacks on high profiled indigenes who in their various efforts contributed to the Ijaw vision.

Need I not remind any individual or group that this is not the first time the Niger Delta area especially those within the river axis is experiencing such a ravaging and devastating flood. It is a necessary evil. It is an act of God and what any reasonable and well meaning Niger Deltan should do is to make appeal for relief materials in other to ameliorate or cushion the hard biting effects of this rather unfortunate quagmire or undoing.

Should anyone or group cares to know, I have in good confidence that plans to release relief materials to all affected areas by the commission are underway, but this recent ill-conceived move by the Ijaw Interest Advocates by giving the NDDC boss an ultimatum and calling for his resignation on the event of noncompliance is only placing the cart before the horse.

I condemn in totality this posture of the group and advise them to desist from it as they are only going to end up on a wild goose chase with threats of intellectual cum legal actions against Dr Nsima U.Ekere.

Signed

Hon. Garry Stanley Ebifide
