Hon. Kolade Victor Akinjo, member of federal House of the representative, representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency in Ondo State, has reaveles his plan to develop and grow the state when he elected as the governor of the state.

Acording to him, Ondo state is blessed with sufficient natural and human resources and their human resources can be rated as being excellent and the best in Nigeria. He added that Ondo state men and women are hardworking, intelligent and highly creative. Therefore what should be done include the building of desirable incentives and encouragements for them to be able to unleash their potentials in their collective desires to develop the sunshine State.

Kolade has sited an example, says that, his pet Mekunnukoya Cooperatives will be replicated and boosted in all the 203 Wards in the State if he is elected as the Governor of Ondo State.

According to him, Mekunkoya Cooperative is to encourage entrepreneurial development among the people for them to become self-employed, and this will also assist them to be able to have access to government loans to boost their economy.

However, Kolade opined that Ondo State can’t continue to solely depend on money from oil derivation because it’s an agrarian State that can supply agricultural products to other parts of the Country and outside the Country if they can creatively harness our agriculture potentials. Ondo State is one of the largest producers of cocoa, cassava, yams, citruses etc. Says, that he will devote attention to the tapping and development of the t resources available in the State.

He further asserted that Let’s the people bear it in mind that Ondo State has the longest coastline in Nigeria and reaveled the advantage of the coastline in aquatic activities which will be help to grow the economy by boosting employment opportunity to its riverside dwellers.

He added that, the forestry activities in the State will be regulated appropriately to accommodate all stakeholders’ interest without forfeiting the expected revenues for the government. According to Kolade, the regulatory policy of the government will allow the farmers in government reserve centers to do their farming and huntings without engaging in illegal activities.

The large bitumen deposits in the State will be given serious attention. This is to guarantee the exploitation and utilisation of the products locally and for export purposes. He stated.

The Security of the Ondo state will be anchored of Community Policing System whereby, the Community heads and Community leaders are organized and empowered to complement the efforts of Security Operatives in combatting crimes. Crimes will be tackled and reduced to the zero tolerance level.

He has also added that, Workers’ interest will be prioritised since the workers deserve their wages. Salaries and entitlements will be paid promptly and regularly. In service trainings will be organised for the workers on regular basis so as to make them current with modern methods of social administration.

The Honourable also make an emphasis about Education, says that it’s meant for the building of viable and happy society. If education can’t be offered freely, it should not be too expensive to bear for the learners as we currently have it in the State. I’ll review schools fees charged in the tertiary institutions and ensure that, at least, primary education is not only free but also compulsory in Ondo State.

While In the health sector, the qualified and competent health workers will be recruited and more Hospitals will be provided, equipped and staffed to prevent avoidable deaths in the State. Maternity Cares will be free and infants health care delivery will be free. There will be at least, one “mother and child” hospital in every local government of the State. Health is wealth principle will guide us in our health care delivery policy.

Both land, air and water transportation will be regulated to ensure safe, cheap and comfortable travellings in the State.

The Ondo State of his dream is one that is secured, friendly, developed with sustainable growth for all to be comfortable and happy.

Call’s God help;
So help me God! Amen!

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, The Worst Performing Governor in Educational Development in Nigeria, NANS Blast Out

It has become imperative for the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to examine and analyse critically certain political leaders whose actions in recent times have made life unbearable for the citizens under their watch.

It is no longer news that the government of Ondo State under Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, a supposed Senior Advocate of Nigeria is today championing an agenda that takes education out of the reach of the poor.

Without any dubiety, before his emergence as the Executive Governor of Ondo State, education since 1999 under Governor Adebayo Adefarati through Olusegun Agagu and Olusegun Mimiko was free from primary to secondary level.

However, a governor who claimed to have fought alongside others during his days at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife against the reversal of the great benefit of the Awolowo education policy is today making education, an exclusive right of the rich, thereby creating class differentials amongst the people he governed over.

Education in Ondo State is now fully commercialised.
Secondary school Students who hitherto enjoyed payment of WAEC/NECO fees under the past admistrations now have additional burdens placed on their parents by the insensitive Akeredolu anti-education government that have scraped the payment of WAEC/NECO fees for SS3 students. This deliberate policy by past democratic administrations have now been abolished and the hopes of many families dashed.

Let it be known to the entire public that undergraduates of state owned Tertiary Institutions in Ondo State are daily dropping out of school due to increase in their various school fees which their parents certainly cannot afford.

How can we explain that a supposed progressive government, increased arbitrarily, fees of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko from 33,000 to 150,000? Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has their fees increased from 63,000 to 108, 000 while those in Ondo State University of Science and Technology has their fees inceased to 200, 000 from 70, 000.

Lest we say that the Akeredolu government did not only defraud students at the School of Nursing but breached their trust by deceiving them into paying higher fees in exchange for Nursing degrees awarded by the University of Medical Sciences established by the immediate past administration of Olusegun Mimiko. We know as a matter of fact, that since the increment, the students from the school of nursing have been made to understand that their certificate will remain the same despite the agreement reached with the government to award them degree certificate from the University of Medical Sciences haven paid the new tuition fees forced on them for that purpose.

Today, Governor Akeredolu is globally junketing with tax payers money in order to create awareness for legalisation of hard drugs and narcotic use. What a confused Chief executive! For once, we should be worried that it takes someone who purchases, uses and is addicted to hard drugs to know it’s economic prospects without caring about lives and its negative impact on the society.

For a governor who has refused to make education a top priority to now lead an advocacy for legalisation of banned drugs that distorts thoughts and stability reveals his level of denigration of governance.

Isn’t it a pity that in a state where education is more or less an industry and a pride, Governor Akeredolu has proven that he is on seat to retard the progress of the youths by encouraging the plantation of cannabis(Indian Hemp) against the pursuit of knowledge? This obviously is the height of his incompetence and insensitivity to the needs of the youths.

We condemn in totality the managements of the state owned institutions who joined the governor in this inglorious journey, for example, the Vice-Chancelor of Adekunle Ajasin University who implemented a policy of no school fees, no test about two weeks ago which was vehemently resisted by the students that lead to the closure of the Institution. To this end, NANS will resist any form of intimidation, oppression or threat to the life of any of our member who are resolute in pursuing their rights and privileges.

We also use this medium to call on UNESCO, other national and international agencies including progressive minded and well meaning individuals to prevail on Governor Akeredolu who have threatened kill and maim our members who will come out and protest against his obnoxious education policies cum commercialization of education in Ondo State.

Let it be known that NANS is relentless in her pursuit of total reversal of all fees increased by the cannabis indulging governor of Ondo State.

We refuse to buy into this life threatening advocacy of addiction and retardation through promotion of hard drugs. We demand that Governor Akeredolu subject himself to a clinical drug test to determine his mental state.

While appreciating the support and endurance of Ondo Students in peacefully demanding for reversal of the obnoxious and satanic increment in their fees, we wish to as a matter of honour, in respect of on-going final rites for the revered Olowo of Owo kingdom who passed on, put on hold our proposed mass protest against the increments until immediately after the traditional rights scheduled for this week. This unjust education policy will surely be challenged and we shall do so upon the completion of late Olowo’s passage rights.

We challenge Governor Akeredolu to a public debate with NANS where he can lay bare his educational policies for Ondo people. We are constantly embarrassed by his seeming threat to wipe off Ondo students for daring to speak out against his anti- educational policy. We view his threat as a test of our resolve to once again lay an irrefutable claim to our heroic struggle for the enthronement of the democratic rule he’s today diminishing without his active participation. We would have reported him to his professional colleagues who side by side fought with us and defended many of our victimized leaders under the military but understanding that he’s now a suspended member of the highest bar gathering in Nigeria. Another option would have been to report him to his political party, the All Progressive Congress, under whose platform he governs the state but we are also reliably informed that he has been suspended for various offenses, therefore we are left with no other option than to face the unrepentant oppressor of the students.

Federation Of Ese-Odo Local Government Students (FELGOS) Now Call On All Students To Embark On Peaceful Protest On Monday 6th May 2019, As 2016/2017 Bursary Scrap

Aluta greetings from FELGOS National Executives.

FELGOS set to embark on a peaceful protest as the Ondo state governor in person of Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu stated to scrap 2016/2017 Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) bursary payment without genuine reasons.

The OSOPADEC Chairman and his co-workers taken the scrapping of 2016/2017 OSOPADEC bursary payment personal, and threatened to take decisive action against any Nigerian students who would fight the injustice.

However, nevertheless, we urge all federated students to come out on peaceful protest on Monday 6th may 2019 and say no to injustice.

The same governor has just increased school fees. He also wants to deprive us of our entitlement.

Therefore, we the leadership of FELGOS implore Nigerian students not to apply or obtain any OSOPADEC bursary forms until justice is seen to be truly done.

Comrade Samuel Olugbenga Chris
FELGOS National Chairman.

Comrade Samuel Ojudoh Dickson
FELGOS National General Secretary.

2019: Akeredolu’s Senior Aides Resign, Decamp To PDP – MainNews.Blog

Two senior aides of the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, have resigned their appointments from the government, and decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party.

They are Benson Enikuomehin, who served as Senior Special Assistant, and Akopebi Lubi, who was a Special Assistant to the governor.

Mr Enikuomehin, was prior to the 2015 election, a member of the PDP, but defected to the All Progressives Congress in the wake of the crisis which engulfed the PDP in the state at the time.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Segun Ajiboye, on Tuesday said resignation of the aides would not any way affect the fortunes of the party at the coming elections.

He said the governor had accepted the resignation of the two aides after they tendered their resignations.

While denying that the duo left the All Progressives Congress and the government due to the political mood in the state, Mr Ajiboye said the aides and indeed everybody were free to join any political party or parties of their choice.

“It must be noted that the resignation and defection of the two former aides of the governor would not affect the chances of the President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he said.

Mr Ajiboye also used the opportunity to clarify an earlier rumour that cabinet members had resigned their positions.

“The two aides of the governor who resigned their appointment were not members of the state executive council,” he said.

“The two former aides, Dr Benson Enikuomehin and Lubi were Senior Special Assistant (SSA) and Special Assistant (SA) respectively.

“Governor Akeredolu wishes the two, success in their future endeavours.”
